SANG'GRE TERRA - POWER-UP

A Gamified Character Development Phase

It was 2012 when I introduced GAMIFICATION in visual story telling in the Philippine Entertainment industry through TV productions across broad casting networks which eventually led to the retelling or reboot of the 2005 franchise, Encantadia.

Though it was not the first to feature gamified journey of characters, it was the first story world to get an extensive make-over in terms of world building from geography to visual languages.

Characters, as they go through notable ordeals, trials and discoveries, LEVEL-UP either by skill, like magic and combat or by visual qualities, like armor, weaponry or wardrobe.

Terra has been pre-determined to have a specific gamified transformation where she gets a "Power Boost", where a temporary upgrade happens to a character comparable to Nintendo's Mario Brothers when either Mario or Luigi becomes temporarily stronger and bigger when given a fire flower or a super mushroom.

Though temporary, it doesn't mean it can not happen again.

This phase opens the idea that other characters can have the same opportunity to "Power-Boost" using all four elements for future narratives.

The Quad-elemental Power-Boosted Armor is the fusion of four elemental powers granted by the roughly formed "Mother Gem".

It is a magically materialized armor that honors the fallen Sang'gre Pirena.(Similarity in shape of the helm from 2016. It is also a visual HOMAGE to the OG 2005 Sang'gre organic design.

I also played with the idea of a Devas symbol manifesting on a Sang'gre's forehead while a magic spell or charm is being performed. These are just ideas that can be considered depending on their use in the story.
